From Russia with Loathing?

It’s been reported on Andre Kirilenko’s Russian blog that he wants out of Utah. I’ll admit that I’d love to get rid of him. I think he’s an amazing player, but that ultimately he just doesn’t fit into Sloan’s system. He can’t be a go-to guy cuz he’s not that reliable on offense, plus he’d be better in a high-octane offense that relies heavily on fast breaks and running situations (i.e. Suns and Warriors). He plays extremely well on defense when he’s looking to help, but in one-on-one situations he seems to get burned quite a lot. It’s extremely unfortunate to have to let someone of his talent and caliber go, but if he’s not happy here and willing to submit to Sloan’s system, then we should probably just trade him. Of course with his recent wining and the fact that he wants to be traded probably means teams won’t put up very much for him, which might mean we can’t really trade for anyone that would make an immediate impact. гречиха

Aaron might need to correct me on this one, but baseball doesn't seem to be quite as plagued by the "I want to be traded" syndrome. Of course, it is plagued by the "There's no way you're gonna trade me there" crap.

I'd take an "AK47" for a "Vladi: I'm 147" trade straight up any day - as long as we maintain some comrades on the team.

Of course, I am now required by law to say, "Go Suns!" So, this comment, like most others, has no validity… I mean Vladidity.

Duane is correct. Most baseball teams making trades are not making personality trades but trades of need. If the Braves need a first baseman, they will ship out prospects to land that first baseman.

In addition, there are nine positions on the field, providing more leniancy for a team in giving someone a chance. For example, up-and-comers in baseball will play two, sometimes three positions in order to get on the field.

Finally, baseball has a stronger union, which means stronger individual rights. As Duane mentioned, the plague is "No way I'm going there" because league veterans earn specific no-trade rights.

AK will be moved at some point in his career. Trades that involve players of his salary don't happen a week before training camp. It would need to be around the trade deadline or draft.
