Alright, I’ll admit it; I’m totally geeked out about this summer’s offering of movies. Between this Friday (Spider-Man 3) and Labor Day, Hollywood will try to squeeze out every penny from a more-than-willing public, by pandering to our childhood nostalgia, franchise addictiveness, and overwhelming desire to be the first to see heavy special effect-laden extravaganzas. These aren’t talking pictures meant for the stuffy academy award crowd—they’ll be no hint of Best Picture nominations here—these are movies meant to dazzle the eyes, release the brain into a fantasy haven, and fill the mouth with butter-soaked popcorn. (I imagine the Celestial Kingdom to be somewhat similar, just kidding; I know we’ll eat manna, not popcorn.) Anyway, it’s become pretty obvious that fanboys have taken over Hollywood, and it can’t be any more apparent then by looking at this summer’s slate of comic-book-inspired movies, sequels, and sci-fi adventures. Irregardless, I know that many of you are excited to start singing, “Let’s Go to the Movies” soon, but what are you the most excited about? What’s number one? I think I’m most excited to see Pirates of the Caribbean. So, I’ve compiled a list—in no particular order:
-Ocean’s 13
-Spider-Man 3
-Pirates of the Caribbean
-Bourne Ultimatum
-Transformers
-The Hobbit
-Harry Potter
-Shrek the Third
-Rescue Dawn? (Christian Bale rocks!)

Well being the first of the Briggs clan to be a fanatic in the Harry Potter realm. I have to positively say that Harry Potter will be one that will NOT disappoint. I can say whith full confidence that this will be amazing. The other sequels worry me a bit, with expectations being so high. I would have to say that the order goes-Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribean, Spider-man, Shrek the Third, Oceans Eleven...The Hobbit is definitely up there-but it's not exactly a summer movie...The rest are irrelevant in my mind:) This summer will be HUGE for Hollywood.
Is there any other Star Wars this summer? I love that Jar-Jar!
I'm excited for all. I just can't pin point which one I like the best. I like all Harry Potters, Pirates disappointed me last year, I loved Transformers as a kid, Shrek's are good for a chuckle, the Hobbit won't be directed by Pedro Jackson and Spiderman 3 was a let down for me already. However, I love any show with Matt Damon (Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean's 13) because I have a man crush on him...

Does anyone want to join me in Arizona for some of these blockbuster hits? Shoot! I need to make friends QUICK in the lil' town so I can have some theater company.
I want to see Nancy Drew instead of Transformers--I grew up with those books! MOM
