I just watched 24 last night and was left with a "so what" feeling. This season has definitely seen a decline in writing quality when compared to previous seasons. I'm wondering if 24 has always been this bad, but it was such a novelty that we overlooked it's weaknesses. Now that it has become somewhat predictable, it's not as entertaining. Discuss.

I'm suprised you were able to predict what was going to happen--I felt there were a myriad of possibilities.
Check out this website http://jumptheshark.com/ and http://jumptheshark.com/topic/24-general-comments/1924. You can research the methods of "jumping the shark" and discover if 24 has made any of those moves.
I say that it hasn't jumped the shark, it's just followed the same formula for all of its seasons. If a show doesn't evolve, it grows stale and boring. But, you have to be careful in that evolution. Maybe Jack could be wrong for once. Maybe they could try NOT HAVING a mole in CTU during a season. Maybe Jack could be sent in somewhere, like Afghanistan or someplace. Just ideas ....
Aaron, I totally agree. I don't think the show has jumped the shark, I just feel like it's become somewhat formulaic. I'd much rather be watching 24 than another CSI rip off.
